Watford 2-2 Coventry

Watford   2 - 2   Coventry

Coventry salvaged a point at Watford courtesy of late goals from David Bell and Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Will Buckley headed the Hornets in front and Coventry old boy John Eustace fired in a second after the Sky Blues only partially cleared a corner.

But Bell pulled one back for the Sky Blues when he netted from 25 yards in the 88th minute.

Jutkiewicz completed the comeback when he scored from the spot after Lloyd Doyley fouled Richard Keogh.

The result saw former Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd earn a point at the club he steered to promotion into the Premier League in 2005/2006.

Boothroyd's side had suffered a blow after 18 minutes when keeper Iain Turner, who had only arrived on an emergency loan on Saturday morning, was forced off because of injury.

Turner was signed as cover for Keiren Westwood, who missed the trip due to a family bereavement, but he made way for Michael Quirke to make his Sky Blues debut.

Quirke, 18, had little chance to stop Buckley from heading in a Lee Hodson cross and veteran Eustace from acrobatically adding to Watford's lead.

Boothroyd seemed set to leave Vicarage Road empty handed before Bell and Jutkiewicz intervened.
