We needed to beat Oldham to secure promotion to the Second Division for the first time. Our 1-1 draw coupled with Middlesbrough’s win at home to Peterborough meant Boro needed to win in their home game with Oxford the following Tuesday night to pip us to the second promotion spot. They won 4-1.
12th May 1967- Watford Observer
10 May 1967- London Five-a-side Football Championship (at the Empire Pool, Wembley)
We beat Leyton Orient 1-0 in the First Round with a goal from Keith Eddy. Then a Duncan Welbourne goal saw off QPR 1-0 in the Second Round before Eddy scored again in the 1-1 semi final draw with Arsenal but we went out losing the penalty shoot out 3-2.
