Despite this impressive result Palace were having a totally unpredictable season. They would lose their next four matches, including the return game against us at the Vic 4-2 which was played less than a week later. They’d also beat Barrow 9-0 at home and lose 7-1 at Notts County. They eventually finished 8th, four places lower than us.
