A Troy Deeney own goal earned Crystal Palace a crucial 1-0 win over Watford to pull them four points clear of the bottom three. If ever there was a game which epitomised Sam Allardyce’s managerial Âcareer, this was it. When the pressure was on and only a result, not a performance, was needed, his players delivered. It’s an extraordinarily bad game. Creatively awful. Sorry if you were hoping for more dramatic build up, more suspense than that. Too bad. I sat through it, if you were hoping for drama then you clearly didn’t bloody do so and you’ll get what you’re given and like it. Share this:TwitterFacebook

Nathan Redmond scored twice as Southampton squeezed past Watford 4-3 in an entertaining encounter at Vicarage Road on Saturday. Southampton’s manager, Claude Puel, joked it would take four defenders to stop Manolo Gabbiadini from scoring as the Italian continued his hot streak. Manolo Gabbiadini continued his thunderous introduction to English football, scoring his sixth goal in four games, to help Claude Puel’s side put their EFL Cup Final defeat behind them. Southampton again looked rocky in defence but were exceptional going forward and caused Walter Mazzarri’s sluggish side all sorts of problems as they climbed back into the top half of the Premier League.
