BHappy image Gah, pre-season’s rubbish, isn’t it?  Half-arsed loafing around, “it’s all about fitness at this stage”.  Everyone gets a run out, result doesn’t mean anything.

24th July 2013- Friendly, Peterborough United 1 Watford 1

As I travelled up to Peterborough, I couldn’t help remembering our trip there in April.  That was a truly horrendous performance, memorable for being one of very few last season, so I was hoping for a lot more entertainment on this trip.  On previous visits to London Road, I have always stood on the terraces.  So I was rather disappointed that only the seating area was open for away fans, but at least I could see what was going on.  The last match report that I wrote from this venue was mostly guesswork.

Comet report: Stevenage suffered their first pre-season defeat of the summer, going down to Watford.

As the teams came out for the second half, Chris Day took his place in the goal in front of the travelling ‘Orns to a tremendous reception.  This baffled the chap behind us, so we had to explain that he used to play for us.  I was shocked to realize that he left 12 years ago.  Where does the time go?
