23rd August 2016- League Cup First Round, Watford 1 Gillingham 2 (After Extra Time) Leave a Reply http://watford.fcdb.info?id=5215 clips of Jon Marks BBC 3CR commentary Goal 1 As we waited for kick-off, a lot of balls were flying in to the Rookery, one of which hit a little lad a couple of rows behind me. I heard applause and then saw Guedioura running up the aisle past us to make sure that the child was OK and give him a ball to take home. That may well have been the highlight of the evening. 22nd November 2014- Championship, Watford 1 Derby County 2 Leave a Reply Derby went clear at the top of the Championship after Craig Bryson’s impressive strike from outside the area saw them win at Watford. Win, lose or draw – and it turned out to be the middle option for Watford, you could argue Slavisa Jokanovic was a winner just for being on the touchline. In the previous two international breaks, Watford’s owners changed managers but the Serb survived this most recent break. Derby were every bit as good as advertised, and whatever our mistakes or limitations it should be borne in mind that we still fashioned enough opportunities to have beaten lesser sides – indeed we’ve played if not worse then certainly as badly as this and won on several occasions this season. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=39623&id=5139 https://www.soccerbase.com/matches/results.sd?date=2014-11-22 https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-championship/22-november-2014/ Share this:TwitterFacebook
1st March 2014- Championship, Watford 4 Blackpool 0 Leave a Reply Watford thumped Blackpool to extend the Seasiders’ winless run to 16 league matches. On the quarter hour Kaiser Tözsér sent a monstrous, arcing corner onto Matthias Ranégie’s head, unattended at the far post; his bullet header gave us the lead. This didn’t stop Richard Short crediting Troy Deeney, but then he’d twice welcomed Lucas Neill twice as a “loan signing” during the warm up so he’s obviously not a detail kinda guy. https://www.soccerbase.com/matches/results.sd?date=2014-03-01 https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-championship/01-march-2014/ Share this:TwitterFacebook
17th November 2012-Championship, Watford 2 Wolverhampton Wanderers 1 Leave a Reply report report:There’s no disputing that the first half dismissal of Christophe Berra changed the game irrevocably. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=37924&id=5034 Share this:TwitterFacebook
18th September 2012- Championship, Watford 0 Brighton & Hove Albion 1 Leave a Reply Video from Brighton’s Facebook page of the penalty and goal Craig Mackail-Smith scored his sixth goal in four games as Brighton beat Watford to maintain their impressive start to the league season. Zola’s Hornets, still a work in progress after their summer overhaul, did have their chances with Fernando Forestieri coming closest when his shot clipped the crossbar, while they could have had a couple of penalties of their own. It’s only a matter of time before kickoff is preceded by a “PREVIOUSLY ON…” round-up for those who missed the last episode or, like me, have been waiting for it all to slow down before they start paying proper attention, in case they start feeling a bit giddy. What did happen to Ikechi Anya? Who bumped off Martin Taylor? Is he the new bloke from them or is he the other new bloke from the others? Why the hell is Sharon back again? Why is Darcey Bussell’s nose so pointy? http://watford.fcdb.info?id=5023 Share this:TwitterFacebook
