29th November 2011- Championship, Watford 2 Bristol City 2 Leave a Reply Bristol City’s resurgence continued as they came from 2-0 down to earn a point at Watford, thanks largely to an error from home keeper Scott Loach. England Under-21 international goalkeeper Scott Loach let Adrian Mariappa’s back-pass slip under his foot and into the net to give the Robins an equaliser within 24 seconds of the second half on Tuesday night. And all of that hard graft? All of those training ground hours, days, weeks spent on defending as a unit, with the excellent Jonathan Hogg ahead of the back four and the wide midfielders tucked into the space in front of the full-backs? All of the rigour and cohesion and structure that Dyche has tried to bring to the party? (Are those things you bring to a party? No matter…) Hard not to wonder whether it’s all been worthwhile when you concede two goals as gormless as these, throwing away three very handy points in the process. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=40823&id=4986 Share this:TwitterFacebook
19th November 2011- Championship, Watford 2 Portsmouth 0 Leave a Reply Michael Appleton’s reign as Portsmouth manager got off to a disappointing start with defeat at Watford. …a third consecutive home win and in its own way, as remarkable as the last two. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=37950&id=4984 Share this:TwitterFacebook
1st November 2011- Championship, Watford 1 Brighton & Hove Albion 0 Leave a Reply A 77th-minute goal from Troy Deeney helped struggling Watford to an important win over Brighton. 23:45 London Charing Cross Station. It’s bloody late and it’s only going to get later. Somewhere ahead, two hours into the darkness at the end of the line, is Hastings, a warm, soft bed and what’ll remain of a night’s sleep. Here, there’s me and an old laptop with a fading battery and a tosser on a mobile phone talking very loudly about fancy dress costumes. Midweek games are brutal; commitment is required. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=35051&id=4982 Share this:TwitterFacebook
