Gianfranco Zola secured his first win as Watford manager tonight against Cork City, as travelling supporters caught their first glimpses of loanees Steve Leo Beleck and Ikechi Anya.

Wealdstone FC Website: Wealdstone began their pre season campaign on Saturday with a very creditable draw against Championship side Watford. Despite missing a number of first team players, most notably last season’s top scorer Richard Jolly, Stones gave a strong account of themselves against Gianfranco Zola’s outfit and will be more than happy with their afternoon’s work in front of a bumper crowd of 1,335.

7th July 2012- Gianfranco Zola is named Watford Head Coach

Although it wasn’t confirmed until the 7th it was widely reported beforehand that Zola would be our new Head Coach, although all the papers said his role would be manager, but he was never referred to as that by the club.
