23rd October 2010- Championship, Watford 0 Scunthorpe United 2 Leave a Reply Scunthorpe picked up a second league win of the week to cause an upset as Watford’s fine form came to an end. The script suggested a leisurely stroll for the hosts. Starting the campaign among the favourites for relegation has galvanised Watford without the burden of expectation. This one stank to high heaven… and there exists no more reliable an indicator of an awful performance than the home crowd, at 2-0 down, booing the display of four added minutes at the end of the game as being too long. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=33336&id=4931 Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
19th October 2010- Championship, Watford 2 Ipswich Town 1 http://watford.fcdb.info/index.php?page=matches BBC: Two quick goals just before the break from Stephen McGinn and Marvin Sordell were enough to sink Ipswich as Watford moved up to third in the Championship. Evening Standard, 20 Oct 2010 BHappy: Agonising as the dropping off at the end of the game is, I can’t help but feel that rather than a deliberate strategy this sort of nervous response to a situation is simply what you’re going to get from a young team. Three of our starting midfield were 21 or under… much as our nerves were fraying badly, I’ll happily cope with that in return for the plusses twelve games in. Third place? Top scorers in the division? And perhaps two poor performances in the League (Leeds, Hull)? I’ll take that with both hands. https://www.soccerbase.com/matches/results.sd?date=2010-10-19 https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-championship/19-october-2010/ Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
