19th February 1969- Division Three, Luton Town 1 Watford 1- Match abandoned after 62 minutes because of snow
This was originally scheduled for Boxing Day 1968 but was postponed, however the original programme was still issued on the rearranged date. The game eventually took place on 30th April when a new programme was issued. We lost 2-1.
9th March 1963- Division Three, Watford 0 Barnsley 1- Match abandoned at half time due to a waterlogged pitch
The scoreline written on the programme relates to the rearranged game played just three days later.
22nd December 1962- Division Three, Watford v Millwall (Abandoned after 65 minutes due to fog with Watford leading 2-1)
26th December 1959- Division Four, Watford 1 Northampton Town 0- Match abandoned after 48 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch
28th April 1959- Division Four, Watford 2 Shrewsbury Town 5 (Abandoned after 74 minutes due to floodlight failure)
The time of the abandonment varies in the reports shown below but in Trefor Jones’ Watford FC archive it was given as being abandoned after 74 minutes. The game was replayed on 7th May.
