This was our first game in the new national Fourth Division, but other than in ‘Supporters Notes’ there is no mention of this in the programme. We hold the distinction of being the division’s first ever leaders, ahead of Northampton Town and Crystal Palace on goal average, but nothing was made of this because the table wasn’t thought of as ‘official’ and newspapers didn’t publish them until at least three games had been played.
