BBC: Watford came from two goals down at Pride Park to register their first away victory of the Championship season and bring Derby’s five-match winning streak to an end.

Sky: Derby lost striker Carlton Morris to injury early in the first half but were in control through Dion Sanderson’s first goal in more than two years and Sondre Langas’ first for the club. Luca Kjerrumgaard reduced the arrears before Edo Kayembe levelled from the spot and then clinched a dramatic win by heading in a corner.

Fran’s Watford Blog: What joy there was at the final whistle as we celebrated the Hornets’ first victory away from home in 280 days. The players came over to greet us and were all beaming. Baah wasn’t going to miss out as he was carried over, although his jigging in front of the away end means either that his injury was not something to worry about or that he will be out for some time having exacerbated it. Javi was the last to reach the away end after all of the handshakes and he was greeted with a rousing chorus of his song.

From the Rookery End: Watford have finally cracked the away-day curse – and they’ve done it the hard way. In this episode of From The Rookery End, Jon and Jordi relive the 3–2 comeback at Derby after 280 winless days on the road, and dig into what it tells us about this team’s growing character. They talk Luca’s predator instincts in the box, Mama’s raw talent and rising expectations, another Baah’s worrying injury, and whether a switch to two up top would help. There’s praise for unflashy hero Edo Kayembe, chat about the increasingly settled back four, and reflections from the fans’ forum and the club’s direction. Plus, a gloriously fuzzy voice note from the Brigadier after one of his favourite ever Watford days.

WFC.Net goal commentary: 1  2

BBC: Andre Gray scored twice against his former club to salvage a point for struggling Plymouth Argyle as they drew 2-2 with Watford.

Sky: Gray smashed home from just inside the box after being teed up by substitute striker Mustapha Bundu in the sixth and final minute of stoppage-time.

Watford frustrated by a shade of Gray seldom seen at Vicarage Road

‘It is progress and I cannot be angry with that performance’

Fran’s Watford Blog: It was a very frustrating end to a game that the Hornets should have won. It was typical that Gray scored both of their goals, but it has to be said that they were both decent strikes. Sadly, Watford only had themselves to blame as they should have finished the game off. There were enough opportunities to do so, and they will be ruing the missed chances, particularly the Bayo one-on-one.

From the Rookery End: The fixture gods did not shine on Watford fans when a late November trip to Plymouth was announced, and got even worse with the move to the Friday evening. But the Hornets put in a great first half performance but couldn’t quite get it over the line after a very late goal from Andre Gray meant its was only 1 point a piece.

22nd November 2014- Championship, Watford 1 Derby County 2

Derby went clear at the top of the Championship after Craig Bryson’s impressive strike from outside the area saw them win at Watford.

Win, lose or draw – and it turned out to be the middle option for Watford, you could argue Slavisa Jokanovic was a winner just for being on the touchline. In the previous two international breaks, Watford’s owners changed managers but the Serb survived this most recent break.

Derby were every bit as good as advertised, and whatever our mistakes or limitations it should be borne in mind that we still fashioned enough opportunities to have beaten lesser sides – indeed we’ve played if not worse then certainly as badly as this and won on several occasions this season.

BHappy image report: how’s that for a bit of perspective.  For all that watching our team in recent weeks has been a bit like building a house of cards on a draughty window sill, we’ve never looked as utterly lamentable as QPR did this afternoon.

22nd November 2003- New Division One, Watford 0 West Ham United 0

So, West Ham are in the First Division again. Judging by the sell-out crowd, this is the cause of some excitement, a bit of a novelty. A nail bar in an old-fashioned part of town, rapidly becoming part of the scenery. Nottingham Forest. Derby County. Sheffield Wednesday. Sunderland. Queens Park Rangers. Norwich City. And so on. It happens very quickly indeed, and you suspect that this fixture will probably be taking place in front of, say, seventeen thousand people next season. Fourteen thousand in two years. Still, ‘Ammers fans, it’s not all doom and gloom…the weather might’ve perked up by then, eh?

BSAD: My lightning-quick tour of the nation began with a five o’clock alarm call at my mum’s house in Watford. From there it was an early morning charge up to Nottingham for a game against the Forest mailing list at ten. Nursing the wounds from a 5-0 defeat, we trundled back down the M1 to Sixfields before the final part of the round-trip took me back to rain-soaked Brighton. Michael Palin, eat yer heart out.
