22nd November 2008-Championship, Watford 3 Queens Park Rangers 0 Leave a Reply report: how’s that for a bit of perspective. For all that watching our team in recent weeks has been a bit like building a house of cards on a draughty window sill, we’ve never looked as utterly lamentable as QPR did this afternoon. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=39623&id=4835 statto.com Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
29th December 2007- Championship, Watford 2 Queens Park Rangers 4 Leave a Reply QPR’s remarkable victory leaves Watford without a home win since 20 October. QPR now sit 19th in the Championship, a long way from Watford who, after a seventh home league game without a win, are on the slide. The manager, Aidy Boothroyd, is trying to quell talk of a crisis but the captain, Jay DeMerit, admits the club’s hopes of going straight back into the Premier League are fragile. “We are a little bit nervous at home – it feels as though there is more pressure,” he said. “A team that is near the top of the table should be winning at home. Our jobs aren’t safe; we have to play well in order to keep them.” What a jolly splendid sunset over the Rous Stand. https://www.soccerbase.com/matches/results.sd?date=2007-12-29 https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-championship/29-december-2007/ Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
22nd September 2007- Championship, Queens Park Rangers 1 Watford 1 Leave a Reply Keeper Lee Camp produced a heroic display to earn 10-man QPR a point against Championship leaders Watford Good job QPR’s strikers can’t shoot. Tell you what, though: cracking game of football. In itself, without all of that stuff. Cracking. http://watford.fcdb.info?id=4770 Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
1st November 2005- Championship, Watford 3 Queens Park Rangers 1 Leave a Reply Watford midfielder Ashley Young struck his 10th goal of the season as the Hornets eased to a comfortable victory. “If anyone underestimated us at the start of the season they won’t be doing it now because we’re third,” said their manager Adrian Boothroyd. “And if they do so, they do it at their peril.” Where Boothroyd’s challenge at the start of the campaign was to raise his squad’s spirits, now he must prevent them from soaring out of sight. BSAD report: For the game itself, both sides had one change to their starting line ups from Saturday’s wins. Watford replaced Darius Henderson, who was on the bench (meaning “bunch of red seats in front of the shack”), with Anthony McNamee. McNamee had substituted Henderson against Wolves. Rangers included former Villa striker Stefan Moore in place of Paul Furlong who was dismissed at Derby on Saturday for kicking Derby’s Wigan loanee Emerson Thome where it hurts most. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=35051&id=4682 Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
12th March 2005- Championship, Queens Park Rangers 3 Watford 1 Leave a Reply Watford slumped to a third successive Championship defeat going down at Queen’s Park Rangers and had to play for nearly 70 minutes with ten men, after Brynjar Gunnarsson was sent off for deliberate handball. Despite a certain amount of empty bluster directed towards Lee Cook and then Graham Poll, this was about feeble surrender, about shutting out the world. A performance that was utterly devoid of substance, and just about got what it deserved…and we’re simply not in a position where we can afford to abdicate responsibility for our fate, not yet. We have to intervene. https://www.soccerbase.com/matches/results.sd?date=2005-03-12 https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-championship/12-march-2005/ Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
9th August 2004- Championship, Watford 3 Queens Park Rangers 0 Leave a Reply http://watford.fcdb.info?id=4609 Ah, this is the stuff. It’s a local derby lite, ninety percent of the passion and drama and pantomime villainy…and no unhealthy additives. And it’s bleedin’ marvellous.
