16th December 1995- New Division One, Watford 3 Tranmere Rovers 0 Leave a Reply God, we needed a win like this so badly. We hadn’t won at home since thumping Stoke and the patience of some sections of the fans was clearly running out. Vastly improved performances at Millwall and Birmingham had indicated that our fortunes were changing but we had to start making it count before Christmas. https://www.soccerbase.com/matches/results.sd?date=1995-12-16 https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-division-1/16-december-1995/ Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook

21st November 1995- New Division One, Watford 1 Luton Town 1 Leave a Reply Eight and a half bloody years! If you don’t count the Anglo-Italian (and, let’s face it, nobody does), that’s how long it is since we beat Luton. To Watford fans, that really hurts. On the evidence of this awful performance, we’ll be waiting for a hell of a long time. https://www.soccerbase.com/matches/results.sd?date=1995-11-21 Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook

4th November 1995- New Division One, Watford 2 Southend United 2 Leave a Reply BSAD report: This was a critical game. At last able to field a side that bears some relation to the one we’d like to see, we needed to get back on the right track. Shame, then, that the good people of Watford couldn’t be bothered to turn up and support their team. Seven thousand seems a bit optimistic to me – there were huge gaps in the North and South stands and for periods of the match we were actually outsung by Southend. It’s difficult to see how we can persuade the players to make an effort when the town obviously doesn’t give a toss anymore. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=35901&id=4161 Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
24th October 1995- League Cup Third Round, Watford 1 Blackburn Rovers 2 Leave a Reply Premiership champions, eh? Without the, erm, charismatic inspiration of Dalglish, Blackburn Rovers have been exposed as utter cack. Expensive, aristocratic cack, but cack nonetheless. Their European Cup adventures have revealled a team without class – clueless, English battle-hard-and-you’ll-get-a-result football at its worst. They’ve been an unholy mess in the league too. Let’s face it, I fancied our chances. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=33679&id=4159 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995%E2%80%9396_Football_League_Cup Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
