This was not a classic, just a well-matched contest with plenty of incident. A healthy serving of good, wholesome footie. And we didn’t lose either.
20th March 1990- Division Two, Watford 4 Brighton & Hove Albion 2 and Steve Harrison is sacked as Watford manager with Colin Lee being named Caretaker Manager until the end of the season.

Despite beating the division leaders Steve Harrison would only survive another four games before being relieved of his duties as Watford manager.

John McClelland’s final appearance for the Hornets. After leaving for Leeds in June 1989 he came back for a short loan loan in January only playing in this game, In total he appeared 185 times for Watford scoring three goals.
