The Non-League Club Directory lists the crowd as being 2,550 and as of 2013 was still the record attendance for a game at The Playing Fields, Mill Meadow.

An 18 year old by the name of Luther Blissett made his Watford debut in this game coming on as a substitute. Over the next 16 years he would make 503 appearances for us which remains a club record.
