After the previous home game against Bolton Graham Taylor made some comments in his post match press conference about the lack of atmosphere at Vicarage Road. These were reported by certain newspapers as the Watford manager criticising the home supporters. In his programme notes for this game he apologised and before kick off he also came out onto the pitch displaying this sign.
