23rd July 2022- Friendly, Watford 0 Southampton 0 (played at Grosvenor Vale) https://www.watfordfcarchive.co.uk/fixture/2022-07-23 Fran’s Watford Blog: The horrors of last season being fresh in the memory, I had been a bit concerned about how we would fare against Southampton. So, while I know that it was a pre-season run-out, the fact that they put out a decent team and we matched them was very pleasing. The Watford team all put in a decent shift, defended decently and clearly had a game plan. The defence were solid and the keeper rarely tested. João Pedro was in great form. Dennis put in a decent shift, but I don’t think any of us expect to see him in a Watford shirt next season. Kayembe looked decent and there were good signs from the new boys Manaj and Asprilla.
