18th August 2012- Championship, Crystal Palace 2 Watford 3 Leave a Reply http://watford.fcdb.info?id=5017 Gianfranco Zola made a winning start as Watford manager as two late goals sealed victory at Crystal Palace. Crystal-Palace-2-3-Watford-BBC-SportDownload A lively first half saw Palace’s Owen Garvan score either side of Martin Taylor’s goal from close range. The second half was a quieter affair until the dying minutes when Julian Speroni once again helped the Hornets by letting Abdi’s strike squirm past him and then Vydra curled the winner deep into injury time. https://www.soccerbase.com/matches/results.sd?date=2012-08-18 https://www.soccerbase.com/matches/results.sd?date=2012-08-17 https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-championship/18-august-2012/ Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
15th October 2011-Championship, Watford 0 Crystal Palace 2 Leave a Reply report report: with NOTHING coming into the gap between the opposition midfield and defence the strikers are playing perpetually with their backs to goal; the ball goes wide, then back to midfield, then wide, then we lose it. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=31800&id=4978 Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
1st February 2011-Championship, Watford 1 Crystal Palace 1 Leave a Reply http://watford.fcdb.info/index.php?page=matches Crystal Palace moved out of the Championship drop-zone after a battling draw at Watford. Watford took the lead through Andreas Weimann, on loan from Aston Villa, when he volleyed in Andros Townsend’s ball from the left. Palace equalised when James Vaughan collected the ball from Neil Danns before jinking his way past Adrian Mariappa and firing past Scott Loach. Evening Standard, 2 Feb 2011 Briefly, as Andros Townsend wriggled through on the left and Andreas Weimann swivelled to score, this promised to be rather fun. But Palace are nothing if not a damp squib: that was as much space and time as they were prepared to afford us, and our attacking efforts were increasingly frustrated by the two holding midfielders wedged in front of the defence like a chair under a door handle. That’s the way to play us, no question. It’s dull as a muddy puddle, but it works. https://www.soccerbase.com/matches/results.sd?date=2011-02-01 https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-championship/01-february-2011/ Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
30th March 2010-Championship, Watford 1 Crystal Palace 3 Leave a Reply http://watford.fcdb.info?id=4909 Quite the most depressing ninety minutes I can remember watching at Vicarage Road, for all sorts of reasons. Crystal Palace gave their survival hopes a boost with a win at Watford, who are now hovering a point above Palace in the drop zone. 28th November 2009- Championship, Crystal Palace 3 Watford 0 Leave a Reply Victor Moses opened the scoring after Julian Speroni’s clearance caused havoc in the visiting defence before Alan Lee nodded home Danny Butterfield’s cross. Watford missed a chance to fight back on the stroke of half-time when Speroni saved Danny Graham’s penalty. The in-form Darren Ambrose then wrapped up the win from the edge of the area with his sixth goal in as many games. http://watford.fcdb.info?s=40815&id=4887 Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
28th February 2009- Championship, Watford 2 Crystal Palace 0 Leave a Reply New Watford signing Don Cowie scored one and set up the other as the Hornets clinched a third successive league win. Three games now against teams that are “down there”. Continue this good run and lingering relegation concerns could be behind us in ten days’ time.
